Pipelines & stages

Design multi-stage pipelines that match how your team actually sells.

Pipelines & stages

A pipeline represents one repeatable sales process. Most teams start with a single default pipeline, but you can create as many as you need — e.g. New Business, Renewals, Partnerships.

Creating a pipeline

  1. Go to CRM → Stages.
  2. Click New pipeline and give it a name.
  3. Add stages in the order deals should move through them.

Stage types

Each stage has a type that controls automation:

  • Open — normal working stage.
  • Won (is_won) — triggers commission creation, PaySync invoice draft, and the deal.won webhook.
  • Lost (is_lost) — marks the deal closed and captures a loss reason.

Probabilities & forecasting

Give each stage a probability (0–100%). Kudu uses this to weight your forecast on the Reports tab.

Tips

  • Keep pipelines under 7 stages — more than that and reps skip them.
  • Use one pipeline per sales motion, not per product line.
  • Rename stages any time; existing deals move with them.
